The Yacht Club

The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron is the host club for 2012 Etchells World Championship. The club was founded in 1862 and celebrating sesquicentenary in 2012 with some special events planned during the regatta.

Insurance for Competitors

To assist competitors, whether using their own or a charter boat (insurance premiums for loaner boats are included in the loaner boat fee), Yachting New South Wales Insurance offers comprehensive insurance cover.

• Dates of Cover: 14th February 2012 – 27th February 2012
• Comprehensive cover for the Boat
• Perils include Accidental Loss or Damage, Theft, Impact, Sinking, Fire, Storm, Malicious Damage, Transit Damage, Pollution Claims.
• Third Party Liability - $10,000,000
• Premium $300 per boat (or $200 per boat if Liability only cover required)
• Excess $250 each and every claim (payment of the excess is the responsibility of the claimant)

The Premium must be paid at registration prior to the commencement of cover and a copy of Product Disclosure Statements will be provided to all purchasers.

Charter & Loan Boats

Charter boats may be available, and we'll list details as they arise. And as per the Etchells Class rules boats in the qualifying series may be made available as loan boats. Contact us for more details. Or you may like to check out the for sale listings on our website.

Event Parking

Parking is only available on site for members; and competitors are advised that street parking in this inner city venue is in short supply. We suggest that you make use of public transport where possible: Kirribilli ferry wharf (map) is 2 minutes away and Milsons Point Train Station (map) only 10 minutes - refer to the RSYS Location map.
